雖然在［不算超重要但關係自信心］的小考前，這麼自殺性的無視複習，
我的心情非常平靜...甚至滿愉悅的！
因為之前對台灣情況的無力感，有些平復。

台灣明明是個國家，是de facto 的事實，
偏偏法律上我們不是，ＵＮ更不算我們一份，這情況常常讓我覺得無力。
更會覺得，我這樣自國中就受西洋教育的人，
其實是怕死的，不和台灣分享一個命運，如何能自稱台灣人？

我自認，是沒辦法做到犧牲家人與自己的幸福，
如同之前為我們的自由打拼的先人一樣。
但台灣的民主，真的需要守護，
因此我為自己的無法參予感到無力。

面對許多中國留學生，也都是盡量避免討埨。
畢竟，我的看法又不能代表多數台灣人的看法，
公投的結果是 indecisive 因為太少人領票，
＂我們是想要獨立的＂如何能夠說的理直氣壯？

而討論「什麼是國家」簡直就像討論「什麼是愛」一樣的籠統。
最多，也不過進展到：
「因為我心裡就是覺得我不是中國人，
自然不希望成為中國的一部分，
所謂 identity 就是這麼回事，
I don't identify with China」

不過，在無意間讀到台灣派部落格後，
東看西看了一會兒，真的很開心的！
看到大家展現的活力，批判性，以及對台灣的熱愛都讓我很感動
雖然意見不盡相同，但這就是民主的可愛之處，
雖然愛台灣的方式不一樣，但重點是大家都愛著台灣，
其實說來說去，identity 就是一種共同的認同和歸屬感吧！

尤其是一個部落格的標題讓我我深感認同。

＂我想個做驕傲的台灣人＂

就只是這樣而已，我要的是一個尊嚴，可以抬頭挺胸的說＂這是我的國家＂的尊嚴！

我不希望以後自己後悔在英國時，和台灣的時事脫節，
所以現在，決定要多讀，多看，能出力就出力！

從寫下自己的心境開始！

So. this would probably be my last update before the end of the Easter break (which was the reason why I had so much free time, awww, gonna miss that!) Lots of things came on and off minds during these two weeks. My old scrap book (which I've organised and taken photo of - thanks to Hannah for the good influence! - But I'll have to update later cause the files are at my family computer at Kaohsiung), my ideas about ethnicity and nationality (not too grand, but well..), this book about the Evolutionary theory that dad wants me to read (it's really interesting~ but big since it is based on a TV series), and my love for Fullmetal Alchemist crawling back!

Edo, it's okay if you're a pea that people will miss even if they squint because you're just as cute as Allen the bean sprout XDD

Anyway, who cares to know about my ~~nonexistant~~ mental development?

A few notes:
With 09 I tried my best with the resolution.. but the quality's not really as good as I woud like it to be.. Anyway, at least it gets the point across, and I don't care if it amuses only me with my weird sense of humour XD
The Chinese character in 14 are traditional (just so the simplified Chinese writers are not confused.. I'd expect LInali to know traditional if it was the 18th century in China? But that's beside the point...) *cough* it says "nightmare."

Watch Me Shine - Orihime. Cheesy name I know, but whatever~ I know this image is pretty overused, but I like it too much~

When the World Falls Down - Allen x Linali. This is a fandom that I am recently hailing as OTP and canon. (I mean, just LOOK at all the hints - reconciliating-after-quarrel, impulsive-hugging-from-nightmare, calling-the-other's-name-at-times-of-mortal-peril, waking-up-to-smiling-face-of-the-other and face-holding!) The pair is just such a delicious mix of crack, fluff and angst :D

O, and, by the way, the lyrics used on the wallpaper is from A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton. The other line I made up myself.. so I apologise for any grammar mistakes ^^;

Color-coordination - Sasuke x Sakura. Probably the wallpaper I've spend the most time on, what with all the circles and patters.

The Space Between Is Sky - Ichigo & Orihime. I suppose the text I add doesn't make much sense, but whatever.. If you look at the original scan you would see that I photoshoped somebody out ;D

Against My Skin - Ichigo & Orihime. Most proud of bars and the text on them, even though they kind of seem irrelevant.

About this layout

Pseudo-poem inside the header: This way of organising navigation I've seen several times, and I absolutely love the idea, so there. The poem (if you can call it that) is a reference to a shoujo manga I recently got into - Shinshi Doumei Cross. The main character Otomiya Haine fell in love with somebody because she understood him through his picture books ^^

Watermelon theme: Hm. I guess most people would think that watermelon relates more to summer, ne? But I realised that a bit too late.. plus I feel like using this theme because I have never worked with this sort of material. I guess I'll just have to balance this out by making an Orange theme layout this summer x3 The coloring is again pink, green and grey, seems like that fits my taste recently.

Failed attempt: I tried to first include a sliced watermelon in the background, but it cannot seem to merge with the existing one, because of the difference in their lighting, so I gave up. A shame really, the curve I was using in photoshop made the slice look really yummy ^^.
I thought of changing the text that now reads "Chinese New Year" in the background to "Summer [to be coming]", but then though better of it :D
Later, I tried to make a little icon of sliced watermelon to be placed between comment texts, sadly, I can't seem to work in small scale and my eyes were protesting, so again, I gave up.

I am particularly proud of: The speech bubble and the heart in the background! They are entirely thanks to Photoshop Custom Shape tools and a touch of sudden inspiration~

Overall I am quite happy with my effort this time. It would probably last for a while, perhaps even till summer~

Hm.

For some reason I felt like doing this. It was really rushed, though, I jumped at the first photo that seemed appropriate, and then edited it VERY simply in Photoshop. Apparently I miscalculated (more like, have not calculate at all) the width of the image etc, but it didn't work out that badly, so I am sticking with it for now.

[EDIT] thanks to the high quality of the photo, it didn't need much editing at all.

The Dog
I suppose some may say the dog is intended to look mysterious and menacing and frightening, but my first reaction was that it is rather cute. Also, I like the way it seems to peek out at something curious, because that's what a new year sort of meant to me - further tentative outlooks into the future :)

Pink and Green
It doesn't really have any meaning other than the fact that they remind me of watermelons and spring, and recently I find that they go well with grey.

I should have wrote about Friday on friday, but I was too engross in fanfictions, it is a luxury for me now XD

The last day of school was really not school. More like chill out time. We watched the Simpsons for PSHE, played Mathillionaire for Math, watched The Incredibles for English, and then the Kareoke Competition ran during the length of history. In the afternoon there was the assembly, and before we know it we were hugging each other goodbye :D

The Kareoke Competition was really cool. There was the Everybody Love Kun-Fu Fighting (I think) which was, well, visually hilarious. The guys really sacrificed a lot doing all the Ha-Cha monkey poses, the girls need only do the singing. Then there's another one which I cannot name the song, but had, I believe six girls dancing the shake-you-arse, spread-your-legs dance (dunnot it's proper name - if it has one anyway.) The lyric went like "Don't you wish your girl friend's dirty like me." They got first prize, but I hope no one among the teachers was offended X'D

Although there are also some people (whose valour I truly respect and admire) who goes off key or whose voice breaks during songs. It is also quite scary when people suddenly pull the microphone in front of their face and their volume would suddenly rise.. that tend to happen during higher notes, which makes it worst. But all in all, it was really nice and we had songs played through the whole lunch break.

Today, I slept until my mother called to check on me. At least I didn't have to wake up to my grandpa's evil dog alarm clock. It plays this extremely loud merry music that I find mocking everytime I had to get out of bed. Now it will have to shut up for three weeks, HA! When we get back from the holidays we will be having our Mocks, but I might as well enjoy when I can.

I slept for a full two hours in the afternoon- A stupid decision really, since I will have Princton Review tomorrow morning and have to get up to wash the clothes and do the vacuuming at around 7:30. Now I feel too energetic for sleep, but I don't really care :)

babbling of HP + LOTR fandom

Okey, so I will admit here my fandom is as capricious as young love XD

Recenly, I've been reading Harry Potter RHr fics and then switched to Lord of the Rings Faramir x Eowyn fics (don't ask, what I ship is ususally the obvious canon couples they WERE married anyway regarded as more obscure..), out of total randomness out of my control. Stark contrast in terms of relationship, but both drawn me in. A lot

In most fanfictions these two are portrayed as bickering old couples or, as most people so explicitly put it (to which point I totally agree, most whole-heartedly,) two stubborn teenagers overwhelmed by sexual tension. Theirs is hte most colourful relasionship, tere are snide comments ("Know-it-all," Ron drawled teasingly.), tart sarcasm ("No Ron, I burnt the letter. Of course I replied!"), downright jealousy ("Krum?" Ron spat the word like venom.), then screaming shrieking bellowing and the rest. One word, very sensataional :)

Fics featuring Ron and Hermione grown up, though, is slightly different. This version of Ron is most likely a successful (most likely is an auror,) humorous, compose (ie no longer blushes when being taunt about Hermione) but still with a touch of cheekiness. Personally, I generally like these fics over the school fics. I mean, the movie and some of the fic Ron is becoming too quick-tempered and, fankly, stupid and cowardy for my liking. Makes you wonder just what Hermione sees in him..

All in all, this is just so satisfying a fandom to read. So many different genres. AUs, Highschool fics, Fluffy marriage, Time travel, Reunion after years, and *cough* some of the best smut I've read so far (recommodation: King by Amber Greene, I swear I shivered when I read this.)

Faramir x Eowyn

These two, on the other hand, are very different as far as I can see. Sure, they are both quick-witted and their jests find their way into their speech - albeit MUCH more subtly, and sometimes, more intelligent. I personally love this somewhat moer mature relationship. The thing that drew them together may not seem clear at first - and I admit that the first time I read it in canon Return of the King, I thought it was just the author doing matchmaker and pairing off the Unloved.

Now I see there is so much more to them. They have such similar pasts and sorrows, and (if I haven't remember wrong) Tolkein had included Eowyn was like Faramir's mother, sad but beautiful. Then there is Eowyn's crush on Aragorn, and how, Faramir ranks just a tad bit below the King. A somewhat evil setting, if you ask me, but great as angst material.

Their personality also fits each other's. Both are born high-ranked and leaders; while Eowyn is strong-willed and determined, Faramir is more considerate and prudent, and, aw, don't you just like the gentlemen? He is probably the only one who can understand, and has enough patience (and LUVV of course) to cure Eowyn, and she him too, since in my opinion, he needed a source of light and a reason to live for.

So yes, I am officially a fan now ^^;;

All I Need is You.

Well, it's not like the line is not common enough, but I somehow noticed it in the context of Nickleback's Saving Me.. (a wonderful song by the way, just can't get enough of it tonight lol.)

Anyhow, the point is, I just realized whoever says this has to be lying.

As humans we have essential needs, namely oxygen, water, carbohydrates, protein, vitamins and the likes. Therefore, it is inaccurate to say all somebody need is somebody else. The correct way to say this should be, "Aside from all the building blocks of life, all I need is you (an optional "baby" may be added depending on the time and spce.)"

But, extending the discussion with myself, I find that this would imply that the speaker has a very pathetic life, where their self-esteem, family, friend, joy, will to live, and whatnot all originate from one single person.

Scary heh? Muahaha.

Anyway. I shall stop babbling and return to work now. Thank you for your patience.

Recently I have been exploring the fantastic world of icontests - especifically BLEACH icontests. I mean, the anime fandom is just so endlessly gigantic! Everytime I think I know a bit of everything now, something completely foreign and exotic pops out of nowhere 8D

I personally think theme is the hardest part of the challenge for moderators to come up with. I mean, it's gott have some sort of relevance to the series, without it being too balantly obvious of what subject would be featured in the entries.

For me, text on an icon is really an important part of the graphic. The icontest without text idea is really original and all, but just doesn't tick for me. I find a well worded icon much more attractive - all that angst and emotion is enough to drown a willing fangirl :)

Bleach chapter 205

Bleach chapter 205 is somewhat pointless.. It seems to me that baldie's going mad, and his character and function in the series is almost the same as Zaraki, fight- and blood-craving maniacs. And while Zaraki still has senses, baldie seems to lose them all *sniff in disapproval*

I suppose Kubo may be trying to put the shinigamis in a better position to beat the allankars, since Hitsugaya previously made the situation seems helpless with his prediction. But then again, the thing about allankars and shinigamis is that they generally posess either godlike power, or no power at all..

Anyway, I'm probably making such a fuss about this because I frankly do not care much for balddie and eye-lashie, I want Hitsu and no one else! *is shot* Mastumoto's Zankaputou ability is also very intriguing - if only baldie would just get out of the way.. *is shot again*
